WHY THIS COFFEE?
We're excited about this washed Gesha from Isaac Espinoza Flores and the San Fernando cooperative in Cusco, Peru. It has the kind of clean, elegant profile people look for in Gesha: soft sweetness, gentle citrus, and a creamy cup that stays approachable. Expect something more delicate than loud, with flavors that lean toward cream, hazelnut, milk chocolate, orange, and red apple.
PROCESSING DETAILS
Isaac Espinoza Flores has spent more than 40 years growing coffee, building on knowledge passed down through his family. This coffee comes from San Fernando, a cooperative located west of Machu Picchu in Cusco, Peru, where the coffee is grown at around 1,860 meters above sea level.
This lot is a washed Gesha, meaning the fruit was removed before drying to create a cleaner, more transparent cup. Washed processing usually highlights clarity, acidity, and the natural character of the variety, which works especially well with Gesha’s floral and citrus-leaning profile.
In the cup, this 87-point coffee is smooth and balanced, with notes of cream, hazelnut, milk chocolate, orange, and red apple. It is a great choice for drinkers who want a refined, easy-drinking coffee with sweetness and gentle fruit rather than heavy fermentation flavors.
